Laying the Foundation

Good Nutrition begins in childhood. Teach your children the benefits of whole health and proper nutrition.

Children learn by modeling. You, as their parents, have a very important job to do. Eat foods that are packed with important nutrients for their growth and development, such as fruits and vegetables, whole grain products, low fat protein and foods that are high in calcium. Limit your intake of processed, boxed goods, high salt canned goods and daily treats that are high in sugars. Beware of beverages that contain added sugars and high fat extras, such as excess oils, butter or margarine. Remember: Moderation is key, so allowing the occasional treat is in the plan! Try a new food every week  – Teach your children that variety is the spice of life.
